@feditips is it me or is it not possible to send direct messages via the official mastodon app?
You can send them by setting the visibility to mentions mode when writing a post. The visibility button looks like a 🌎
Then mention the accounts you want the DM to go to. They will be the only ones who see the post in mentions mode.
I know it's awkward, I think some third party apps have better options.
